In 1989 he joined a plaintiffs' personal injury firm in Marietta, Georgia, where he litigated automobile accident cases for over ten years. In 1999 he started his own firm where he continues to represent automobile accident victims exclusively.

Paul Shimek III comes from a family of lawyers spanning two generations, and he has been in practice for 29 years. Originally from California and raised in Florida, he moved to the greater Atlanta area in 1989. He is licensed in Georgia and Florida.
He graduated from Florida State University with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree and worked with the Florida Department of Transportation prior to attending Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
While in law school he interned for a State Supreme Court Justice, a Federal District Court Judge, and a State Trial Court Judge. After earning his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1988, he began his legal career in Florida where he soon learned that personal injury law was what he enjoyed most.
